Moorpark Country
Club Course Plan
This 27-hole championship
course designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy features bent grass greens,
Bermuda tees and fairways, and measures 7,000 plus yards with a Par of
72. Moorpark Country Club features a fantastic layout that includes three
distinct 9’s, combined for 27 holes of championship golf. With 5
different sets of tees, each golfer can set their own pace for the challenge
they desire.
The large USGA spec-built greens, with Penncross A-4 creeping bent grass,
are traditional style with modest breaks and contours. Each green is surrounded
with bent grass puttable collar. The total square footage of greens measures
115,000, with the largest green measuring 7,271 and the smallest 5,920
square feet. Green speeds are kept playable, but you will notice how smoothly
they roll and the deceptiveness of the breaks.
Tees were all designed to maximize the experience for the caliber of player.
A total of 170,000 square feet of tees, including driving range, are grassed
with Greg Norman-I Hybrid Bermuda grass.
• Black Tees were designed for tournament and scratch golfers and
measure 7,091 yards
• Blue Tees are championship tees and were designed for handicaps
of 10 or lower and measure 6,641 yards
• White Tees are Men’s regulation tees and measure 6,232 yards
• Red Tees are Ladies regulation tees and measure 5,504 yards
• Gold Tees are forward tees, designed for novice golfers, and measure
4,773 yards
Careful thought has gone into maintaining the natural chaparral for native
Ventura County wildlife. A total of 83 acres, encompassing three separate
natural wetland habitats, have been developed to preserve areas for native
wildlife. Early morning players will be greeted with deer grazing. Afternoon
players will witness hawks and falcons riding the thermals. Coyotes greet
the evening train whistles. Our Environmental Management Facility is state
of the art and our certified GCSAA staff welcomes any questions concerning
our maintenance practices.
